What were you like back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?
"High school was a mixed bag for me. I loved my education and my friends, but I did not love who I was at the time. I had that small rural farm town upbringing story, with the fortunate exception that my parents were liberal back-to-the-landers. My graduating class had less than ten students, and feeling like I could really be myself wasn't something I experienced until college. I had some very intimate friendships in high school, all guys, but never dated anyone; part of me rejected the idea of dating someone without fully being able to be myself first."

Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?
"Amateur porn, certainly, but prior to entering the industry I would have struggled to give you a handful of names. Porn has been a process of self-discovery for me, which is why I prefer a participatory position over an observatory one. Before entering the industry, and certainly before transitioning, I found very little porn appealing. Porn with cis women made me dysphoric, and porn with trans women made me envious. However, amateur porn often didn't include the participant's face which gave me the opportunity to project myself onto them. Erotic literature, sex comics, and hentai appealed to me for the same reason."

How did you become a porn performer? What led you down that career path?
"My preference for participation, and probably some desire for self-verification initially. My professional porn career wouldn't exist without all of my amateur content which came before. Because being an observer wasn't enough for me, I had to participate. Through participation I began building my own little community of people like myself, who would chat and share content together on a regular basis. Inevitably some of the members of that group slowly worked their way into the professional scene, which made the whole experience seem less daunting. My plan was to wait until after graduating college to go professional, but decided during my last semester that it was time to answer my calling."

What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?
"Sooo many things! I am always saving pics and video clips that I find with the intention that hopefully I'll get a chance to incorporate into my own work. As for who? Well, Ashley Fires has been teasing me to shoot something with her for about 2 years now, and I'm totally calling her out on that right now. I want that butt in my face again, Ashley!"

Who is your performer to work with and why?
"I don't like picking favorites, but I have to say Natalie Mars because we've been in this journey together pretty much the whole way, and my partner, Nicko Wolfe, has been hugely supportive of me and my career, lending his camera skills to making my content even better."

You seem to really love your fans and respond to them a lot on Twitter. Tell me how having this fan base has changed your life.
"I do love my fans! Honestly I don't really remember what it was like not having them. It is strange talking about my fan base when I'm just hanging out with old friends, though. I am really happy that having a fan base hasn't changed me in a way that has affected those relationships."

What do you love most about doing trans lesbian scenes?
"Feeling a connection with a woman, particularly now that I am a woman, is pretty special to me. As I mentioned earlier, I didn't really date anyone until I started to discover myself more, and prior to that, I felt pretty awkward around women. Being perceived as one thing while feeling like something else made it so I never really knew how to act around girls, which really made me feel awkward. Now that I look like the person I feel like, that is much easier for me. I'm still pretty shy though, and I think that comes across in my 'Real Fucking Girls' scene with Dee, hopefully in a charming way."

What do you enjoy most about working for Grooby?
"Twice now Grooby has featured me in productions I was hoping to be a part of without me even asking. I was dying to be part of a 'Trans6uals' sequel, which happened, and a 'Real Fucking Girls' sequel, which happened. How did they know?!"

What did you enjoy most about being directed by Mona Wales?
"She is such a sweetheart! She worked so hard to find the perfect scene partner for me, she took excellent care of us during the shoot and then to my surprise, she sent us home with little care packages. It was one of those shoots where I went home thinking, 'And I get paid for this?!'"

What goals do you have for your career?
"If you really want to take performing in porn seriously, you have to see it as more than a career, and more than a use of your body. I see porn as a sort of life training fitness program that is always pushing me to be better. Looking back, I was an awkward, overweight, acne-prone, and frankly unattractive teen boy who somehow underwent a metamorphosis. I probably wouldn't have cared about changing who I was if it weren't for the camera. Constructive vanity, I suppose? My goals are to be healthier, smarter, and more pro-social, attributes that may sustain me outside of porn as well."

What do you think that people get wrong the most in how they make love to each other?
"Lack of communication is definitely a big one. Knowing and being honest with one's self is another. You can't give yourself to someone else if you don't know what you're giving."

What are your “must-own” DVDs that you think your fans should see?
"Look at me, I've already gone and mentioned them. 'Trans6uals II' and 'Real Fucking Girls 2'!"

Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?
"Nina Hartley is one, if I can have a porn career half as long I'll be more than happy! Also Conner Habib, I feel like he's at a place intellectually where I'd like to be someday."

What about your career in porn makes you the happiest?
"The acceptance for being a sexual being, the capacity for self-improvement, the support of fans. I suppose what a psychologist might call that feeling of self-actualization."

What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently? 
"I liked 'Blade Runner 2049', although it confused the hell out of me. "

How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?
"Really truly honestly the last porno movie I bought was the first 'Real Fucking Girls' movie, so I guess I already did that one!"

Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you more low-tech?
"I'm pretty lazy about using toys off-camera these days, to be honest. I love toys, but when I am either shooting or camming twice a week, all the cleaning becomes a bit tedious." 

If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be?
"Rose Leslie or Kristofer Hivju from Game of Thrones. Either way, think of the fiery redheaded wildling children!!!"

What is coming up for you?
"I'm really looking forward to being at AVN's expo and the Transgender Erotica Awards again this year!"
