Trans Superstar and AVN Hall of Famer, Vaniity Attacked

EDITORIAL FEATURES

According to an Instagram post on her official account, AVN winner Vaniity was attacked without provocation. In a post last week she stated;

"I am a survivor of a hate crime attack - this guy attacked me - tried to befriend me. I told him I am TS. He asked if I wanted to go for a walk and I said "ok" when we turned into a parking structure that was near by me he hit me over and over. The back if my head was bleeding. He beat me with a dead-bolt lock. Cracked open the back of my head in 3 places. One on my temple. I fought back. He was amazed that I wasn't knocked out. But I did not fee a think. I fought him with my phone in one hand. And I was able to get away."

Although no longer active in production, Vaniity is one of the most well-known transsexual performers of all time, with a worldwide presence. She started in Joey Silvera's productions in the 1990's and has appeared in over 100 releases, most notably for Evil Angel and Kink. She was the first transsexual performer to get an AVN Award (AVN introduced 'Transsexual Performer of the Year' in 2004) and inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2013. She received The Transgender Erotica Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

She retired from performing in 2014 and lives in Los Angeles

Violence towards trans women has been on the rise in the USA with 2017 recording a record high in deaths.

We wish Vaniity a speedy recovery.
