The F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad Saves The World and Gets You Off!
Adult Time has announced that super loved by Fleshbot fans F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad hardcore animated futanari series has been renewed for another season which is great news of those fighting and fucking futa beauties. It seemed like a good time to check in with series co-creator 3X West. Here is what he had to say about this loved series and about what the future of the series has in store for its followers.
Hello, 3X! How are you? How are things in your world?
"I'm doing great, thanks! Right now things at Adult Time are busy in the best way possible - we're planning a TON of new projects for the coming year, including some very ambitious new launches. We're especially putting a big focus this year on new content starring trans women - so hopefully our trans and futanari fans will have a lot to look forward to in 2022."
Congrats on the new season of F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad being a thing! How does it feel having this series be such a fan favorite?
"Thank you so much - it's honestly been such a joy to see so many new fans discovering Adult Time through this project. Obviously AgentRedGirl --the animator we partnered with to make F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad--played a HUGE part in that, because she's already developed such a loyal following over the years. But we've been thrilled to see that our collab together has been such a success... what's amazing is we managed to not only delight her existing fans, but also reach whole new audiences. To me that's the most rewarding part of a successful team-up is when you can accomplish things together that neither of you could have done on your own....which is a common theme in lots of anime, too, now that I think of it!"
What do you love most about creating animated scenes like this?
"Working in animation really lets you throw the rulebook out the window when it comes to what you can or can't do. Not to say that animated content doesn't have its own 'rules' you have to follow, but they are very different - and for someone who has been working in live action for so long, very refreshing to be able to approach projects in totally different ways. For example, in animated content you can stretch the limits of what your characters can do - physically and sexually - without worrying about things like a live actor's capability, comfort, or consent being compromised. Our actors' well-being is very important to us, so we often keep our sex very unscripted and let the sex unfold organically on the day of the shoot. But for animated projects, we've been much more able to script the sex exactly how we envisioned it... the sex acts, the positions, even the camera angles... it's quite the gamechanger!"
What/who inspires your creation of these type of scenes the most?
"I'm very into 'nerd culture' - I even had a video game themed wedding! - so I love infusing our animated projects with lots of references and homages to different anime and mangas, video games, movies and TV shows, and more. To me, it's so important that there's that extra layer of passion for the medium, because otherwise these kinds of "culture mash-ups" run the risk of feeling hollow or derivative. So for example, with F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad we took a lot of inspiration from Pacific Rim, Overwatch, Power Rangers, Evangelion, Voltron, She-Ra, Sailor Moon, and more to craft our own sentai narrative with a sexual spin. Hopefully fans will recognize some of the references to these classics while also feeling like we offered a fresh and unique take on the mecha and sentai genre."
What has surprised you most about the reception of the F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad by the fans?
"I guess the biggest surprise was just that there's so many futanari fans out there! We knew it was a big audience but we had no idea how big, or that it was going to even outperform our first hentai venture Hentai Sex School. In fact, F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad broke all kinds of launch records for us. You can imagine it turned a lot of heads at the office... I had a lot of people coming up to me the next day who had no idea what the series was about or even how to pronounce the title. The look on people's faces whenever I explain it as a series about women with penises piloting giant robots to battle mutant women... it's pretty priceless!"
There are some F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad scenes up now that are crazy popular plus more scenes are coming for Adult Time members next year. What about the production of these scenes do you think would surprise fans the most?
"I think a lot of people who aren't dedicated fans of animation would be shocked to learn just how long it takes to make animated content. The first episodes combined are about 15 to 20 minutes of footage and were animated over several months! One of the biggest comments about the first episodes was that viewers wished they were longer - trust us, so do we! We tried to strike a balance between including all the material we wanted vs. getting the episodes to the audience faster. In the end I think it's a testament to everyone's hard work that the biggest complaint was just people saying 'we wanted more'!"
What are your other favorite Adult Time channels? I am familiar with your work for Pure Taboo but what else do you love on Adult Time?
"Oh, well thank you! I'm actually involved in almost all of Adult Time's original programming in one way or another, so it's hard for me to pick favorites, but I do have a soft spot for any of the times where we've gone out of our comfort zone to do porn differently - because I think those show off just how diverse and innovative we aspire to be as a brand. We recently released a series called Transgressive Films where we decided to include realistic stories centered around transphobia, ignorance, and fetishization - not an easy thing to make sexy! But I was really proud of how the series turned out, and we got some very inspiring responses trans and trans ally audience members, advocacy groups, and colleagues in the industry. And then on the flipside, projects like Hentai Sex School and Midnight Stories--our other animated ventures to-date--are inspiring for entirely other reasons because they challenge us to learn brand new production methods, and give us opportunities to work with an entirely new sector of creators and collaborators. So those are the types of projects that always stick out the most for me - but really, anything the members love, I love, because it means we're doing something right!"
If you could have any celebrity enter the F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad world, who would you choose?
"Ha! I mean, can you even IMAGINE Laverne Cox as a badass mecha pilot in a skin-tight catsuit? The villains would surrender on the spot."
What is coming up for the F.U.T.A's? What should the fans be on the lookout for?
"I teased it a bit in my earlier answer, but we definitely want to tackle the age-old anime trope of a rag-tag group teaming up to accomplish great things together. 'The power of friendship' might be a meme in the anime community but that's because it's such an essential part of the sentai genre that we will definitely want to put our own spin on it. That, plus it's just good TV! Escalating conflict makes for a great seasonal arc, so you can bet that our protagonist Mika is going to meet some threats she can't face alone. She'll have to find others like her if she has any hope of saving the world from the global threat of the she-hemoths..."
is there anything that you want to say to the F.U.T.A. fans here at Fleshbot?
"Of course! Thank you so much for enjoying the series so far, and wanting to see more of it. It's absolutely because of all of you engaging with the series so positively that we've been able to greenlight more episodes. I can tell you that all of us at Adult Time AND AgentRedGirl are so moved by your enthusiasm for the work we're doing, and we can't wait to Rise Up to your expectations and give you more futanari greatness! Stay tuned!"
